The fight was said to be good as done ever since his triumph over Michael Bisping in Australia. But now the bout agreement has been signed. Wanderlei faces Japan’s Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 116, to take place July 3, in Las Vegas.
“I agreed to this fight at the press conference, because the boss (Dana White) said the guy wanted to fight me, and I don’t run from anybody. I met him in Australia and could see he was nervous. When he shook my hand, his was all sweaty (laughs)! I know body expression!” Wand fired off, promising to make a party of it, as he will fight the judoka on his birthday.
