Vitor Belfort may face Japanese fighter at UFC in Germany
He’s not the opponent Vitor Belfort was hoping for, so Yushin Okami had better prepare. According to MMAWeekly.com, the Japanese beast should be the Carlson Gracie black belt’s next opponent, at UFC 122, in November in Germany.
Belfort was seriously linked to a shot at middleweight champion Anderson Silva, after a fight scheduled between the two at UFC 112 was scrapped due to a shoulder injury to Belfort. Dana White announced, however, that Chael Sonnen will get another stab at the champion, after a triangle in the waning moments of their fight shattered his dreams of becoming champion, at UFC 117.
Both Okami and Belfort hold high regard with White. The winner should have a shot at the middleweight belt some time in 2011.
