Jiu-Jitsu world champion Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes had a successful debut in MMA this past Saturday.
He defeated Jamie Carskaden with a katagatami submission in only 36s of round 1 of their match, which was part of the event Duel for Domination 6.
The fight took place in Mesa, Arizona.
Tanquinho wrote about the win on Facebook: “Yesterday was a great day! I did my MMA debut and I won in 36 sec on the first round! It was a great experience and I can’t wait to do it again! Thank you to God and to all my coaches, teammates, family and friends for all help!”
