The UMASS Athletics gymnasium in the US state of Massachusetts was stage to yet another major IBJJF tournament gracing the competition calendar—the Boston Open. And the big name to surface there was Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa of team Soul Fighters, who won the absolute and took third in the middleweight division. Other standouts were: Jonathan Torres of Lloyd Irvin, who won the lightweight division; Wilson Reis of Godói JJ, the featherweight champion; and Daniel Beleza of SAS, number one at light featherweight.
In the overall team contest, Kimura took top spot, followed by Lloyd Irvin and GFTeam.
