After winning the title in 2018 in a veritable lesson in tenacity, Felipe Preguiça came back this year to defend his crown at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. One entire season of training culminated in a repeat performance.
Following a series of very touch matches, the Gracie Barra black-belt arrived in the final opposite Gustavo Batista (Atos). Preguiça’s showing in this tense battle convinced all three judges that he deserved to keep the heavyweight title.
