A BJJ fighter hailing from Manaus and living in the U.S., Carlos Diego Ferreira just achieved a win in the toughest bout of his MMA career. Last Saturday, Jan. 18, he faced Anthony Pettis — and jiu-jitsu played a decisive role.
Pettis, a former champion of the UFC and WEC, brought his flashy moves and distance control to try to baffle the Brazilian, but Carlos has a plan. To win, he avoided the low kicks and closed the distance as soon as he could, to take down, take the back and finish via rear naked choke.
