Held last month in Brazil, the Floripa Open brought together a group of talented athletes fighting for gold medals as well as IBJJF rankings points.
Bia Basílio of Almeida JJ stood out even amidst tough competition. In the women’s lightweight final, she wasted no time putting the best of her game into practice.
After pulling guard and spinning, she adjusted herself before coming up and scoring two points for a sweep. With pressure from the top, she reached side control and advanced to the north-south, proceeding to attack with the kimura that would give her the win.
Watch the following video to see the details of Bia’s exemplary progression.
