Victor Hugo, Max Gimenis, Keenan Cornelius, & More To Compete At Fight 2 Win 148

Fight 2 Win has begun to announce their matches for F2W 148, and so far, it looks like we’re in for a heck of a show.

The promotion has announced that Victory Hugo will defend his super heavyweight title against Max Gimenis in the main event of F2W 148. Hugo, who won No-Gi Worlds last year, is on a six-match winning streak with a 3-0 black belt F2W record. His last appearance on the big stage at F2W 143 saw him submit Fellipe Andrew with a triangle choke, and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking to improve his record further against Gimenis.

Gimenis hasn’t competed since his match at F2W 123 (which he won), but he’s currently riding the momentum of absolute division gold at both the New York Fall Open and the Atlanta Winter Open. An ADCC veteran himself, he’s going to have his hands full with Hugo, but he’s not one to be underestimated. Could he take the title home?

The co-main event of the evening will see the F2W debut of none other than Keenan Cornelius himself, who will be competing for the first time since his match at Who’s Number One. Having won Euros (again) earlier this year, the multiple-time Pans champion will be testing himself against Matheus Luna, who will be competing a month shy of his one-year black belt anniversary. This will be the first time this year that we’ve seen Luna in action, but he’s already showed a lot of promise as a black belt, taking home gold at both the Lisbon and Tel Aviv Open tournaments. Cornelius will be a big test for the emerging star, but a win against an athlete of such a high caliber could be just the thing to get more eyes on Luna.

Finally, Kendall Reusing will be making yet another stop on the F2W stage as she takes on Bellator veteran Brittney Elkin. Reusing and Elkin are both familiar F2W competitors who have displayed an incredible amount of tenacity and talent for the promotion and beyond. Reusing, who brought home gold at No-Gi Worlds last year, has shown that she’s one to look out for since earning her black belt just about a year ago, and Elkin is a two-division F2W champion. This will be one of the matches to watch on the card as these two champions battle it out to add another win to their grappling records.

As always, we can expect many more exciting matches on the undercard as well. Make sure you’re watching when F2W 148 streams live on FloGrappling from Austin, TX on July 24!
