If origins mean success, Victor Figueiredo Genovesi, 21, has a bright future in Jiu-Jitsu. The son of the highly technical Jiu-Jitsu professor Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva and ultra-marathon runner Dani Figueiredo, Victor wielded his genetics, endless gas tank and love for Jiu-Jitsu to conquer his first gold as a brown belt at the IBJJF World Championship earlier today in Long Beach.
In the featherweight final, Victor defeated Gianni Grippo (Gracie Elite). Earlier in the stacked division, he outdid Andris Auseklis (Lloyd Irvin) and Fabio Caloi (Alliance), who took the bronze.
Check out some of the style on display from Victor, a Jiu-Jitsu professor at Alliance Leblon, in Europe, while still a purple belt.
