Your favorite (and least-favorite) UFC fighters will now be sporting a new look starting next year.
The company has announced that Venum will be the UFC’s exclusive outfitting partner, effective beginning in 2021. Venum will be replacing Reebok, which has shared the partnership with the UFC for the past six years. Reebok will continue to provide fight kits for UFC athletes until the end March next year, at which point the deal with Venum will kick in. Reebok still has a footwear deal with the UFC that will extend to the end of 2021, however.
In a statement, Dana White said, “We’re pumped that Venum will be joining us as our new exclusive global outfitting and apparel partner. Venum is an iconic combat sports brand that understands the unique needs of MMA athletes. Franck Dupuis and his team at Venum have the technical knowledge and experience that will produce world-class UFC fight kits and apparel. We’re looking forward to collaborating with them on this next evolution of UFC’s outfitting program.”
The deal will also mean a pay increase for athletes according to the UFC’s official press release, which states, “UFC will adjust the pay scale tied to its Promotional Guidelines Compliance program, which will result in across the board increases for all athletes effective April 2021.”
