Two more big matches have been announced for December’s Who’s Number One event.
Vagner Rocha, fresh off a big win at F2W 157, will be making his return to WNO to battle it out with 10th Planet star Jon Blank. Rocha, who defeated Ronaldo Junior in his last WNO appearance, won his most recent F2W match in spectacular fashion with an inside heel hook. Coincidentally (but not surprisingly), Blank also won his last match at F2W with an inside heel hook of his own. Both athletes also had impressive performances at ADCC, and this match is sure to feature some fast-paced, aggressive action from both competitors.
Also on the card is Blank’s teammate, Grace Gundrum, who will have a match against Mayssa Bastos. Gundrum is now a black belt herself and has long had a reputation for submitting opponents who were ranked higher or had more experience than her, and she recently claimed victory over Pati Fontes to win the title at F2W 155. She’ll be a worthy challenge for Bastos, who has won almost every major championship possible in her relatively short black belt career, including Worlds (gi and no-gi), Pans (gi and no-gi), the World Pro, and the strawweight EBI title. This will be a crazy match, and it’s elevated this card to a new level.
These matches join two other huge bouts for the event: Kaynan Duarte vs. Rodolfo Vieira and Dante Leon vs. Roberto Jimenez.
Who’s Number One will take place on Friday, December 11 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
