The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed both Marcus “Buchecha”Almeida and Beatriz Mesquita that no prohibited substances were found in their samples after the 2014 Worlds.
For the second year in a row, the IBJJF requested USADA to perform anti-doping tests on the elite division of athletes of the Worlds.
So far, both the male and female black belt open class champions have been informed that they are cleared of any prohibited substances.
Bia Mesquita even posted the letter she received from the USADA on her Facebook page.
She also wrote: “For those who doubted that a lightweight athlete could be open class champion without using anything, here’s my answer.”
Buchecha sent the GRACIEMAG.com the letter he received from the USADA.
