40 never looked so chill.
UFC hall of famer Urijah “The California Kid” Faber made an explosive comeback performance to the octagon at UFC Sacramento this past Saturday, securing the fastest victory of his career. Faber got the TKO win over rising bantamweight Ricky Simon 46 seconds into their bout with a devastating right hook followed by ground and pound.
“Props to Ricky Simon, that kid’s gonna be a terror in this weight class,” Faber said in his post-fight with Michael Bisping. Despite the early finish Faber found himself tested with Simon’s standup game, the young challenger landing a few choice headshots and one hard kick to Faber’s left leg before being stopped.
The veteran wasted no time discussing his future with the UFC, even calling out current flyweight/bantamweight double champion Henry Cejudo. “Henry, what’s up dog? I remember 10 years ago when you challenged me to a fight as a friendly gesture, and I’m down to get down there and mix that up,” Faber said. Cejudo responded via twitter that he’d be more than happy to face the Team Alpha Male founder for the belt.
Currently Faber’s record sits at 35-10 with Simon at 15-2.
