The sport has just reached another milestone that highlights just how popular it has become. In the previous week, it was reported that the UN adopts Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for its security personnel.
Rener Gracie of the famous BJJ clan flew to New York at the request of the United Nations. He went to the UN Headquarters to conduct a special course on Gracie Survival Tactics. This was made available to the top instructors of the organization’s security service.
It should be noted that Jiu-Jitsu has long been taught to security personnel across all the fields of service. However, for the UN to recognize the GST program in this manner is indeed a bid deal for the sport.
We’ve taught local, state, and federal law enforcement for over 20 years, but being invited to teach at UN headquarters has been my biggest honor to date.
