The UFC loses one more Hall of Famer for a rival organization with great potential for competition in MMA. After Randy Couture and Stephan Bonnar now is Royce Gracie’s time to sign a contract with Bellator. The information is from MMA Junkie.
Royce will have the mission of being an ambassador of the organization, promoting the brand in seminars, book signings and appearances at events; it also helps in expanding the brand internationally.
The Gracie spoke of his connection to the UFC organization in which he was the first champion in history, and the migration to Bellator:
“The UFC has done a great job over 29 years building the sport and spreading worldwide, I am grateful to be part of it. But Bellator is an organization that is growing and I’m honored to become part of this and join the talented and dedicated people of the company, means that we can go beyond the growth of MMA in the world, “said the master of Jiu Jitsu.
Royce Gracie will be directly involved in promoting the Bellator 131, on November 15, an event that will be held on the same day and time of UFC 180 with Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum in the main event.
