UFC Hall-Of-Famer Ken Shamrock Is Starting A Bare Knuckle Fighting Promotion

MMA legend Ken Shamrock was involved in one of the most famous fights of all time, and now, he’s reported by the Associated Press to be starting up his own bare-knuckle fighting promotion.

Shamrock, a UFC Hall-of-Famer who fought Royce Gracie all the way back at UFC 1, has announced that he’ll be partnering with his business associate, Des Woodruff, to start Valor Bare Knuckle Inc.

BJ Penn.com reports that Shamrock said in a press release, “I fell in love with bare-knuckle in the first no-holds-barred UFC promotion in 1993. There is nothing like bare-knuckle. You have to be much more accurate with your strikes, and you have to train with a specific strategy in mind. Bare-knuckle has always been my favorite way to compete because it is simply fighter against fighter, no more and no less. There is something pure and uncomplicated about that.”

Valor Bare Knuckle Inc. will have its first event on September 21 this year, and while a card hasn’t been released yet, fellow UFC Hall-of-Famer Mark Coleman strongly hinted that he and Shamrock would be going head-to-head (or rather, knuckle-to-knuckle) at the event. In a Facebook post, Coleman shared Shamrock’s announcement and added, “Ken and I are finally going to share the Ring! BKB . I will no longer have to answer if I fought The Great Ken Shamrock! Good luck my friend.

Will we get to see the 55-year-old Shamrock fight once again? Keep your fingers crossed.
