Kelvin Gastelum, a middleweight/welterweight UFC fighter and the winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17, is officially a BJJ black belt.
The promotion was announced by Eddie Bravo on his Instagram page. Bravo said that Gastelum, who has been practicing jiu-jitsu for ten years, was given his belt by Brian Beaumont, who’s the head instructor at 10th Planet Yuma in Arizona.
Gastelum boasts a record of 15-3 in MMA and is currently the number-four ranked middleweight fighter in the UFC.
