Brazilian jiu-jitsu saved undefeated UFC Featherweight Brian Ortega, and now he wants BJJ to do the same for other children in need.
That’s why he set up the Brian Ortega Foundation, so that children who can’t afford to train BJJ can train for one full year…for free!
According to the website:
The T-city Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship for one year of training at any Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center in the world, including Gracie University Headquarters where Brian Ortega trains and teaches.
Unfortunately, but understandably, not everyone can receive the scholarship. Students must live near a certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu training center, be between 6 and 16, and have a means of transportation. They must also fill out an application and pass an in-person interview.
Still, this is an amazing opportunity for kids who want to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but can’t.
