The fight that was supposed to happen next August 2, in los Angeles, already has a new date and setting.
The rematch between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and contender Chad Mendes will take place in Aldo’s hometow, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The date chosen in October 25 and the event will be UFC 179.
The news was released by UFC President, Dana White, during UFC Fight Night, in San Jose, California.
Ze Aldo and Chad Mendes met for the first time in January 2012 and the champion won by TKO in the first round.
Since then, Mendes is undefeated in five matches and Aldo defended his belt three more times.
