UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and her wife, Fernanda Gomes, were robbed at gunpoint in Niteroi, Brazil on Thursday, Gomes revealed on social media.
Andrade, who won the title after knocking out Rose Namajunas at UFC 237 on May 12, was driving with Gomes in the passenger’s seat when they were allegedly stopped by robbers. The thieves robbed both the women’s phones and the car.
According to MMA Fighting, who spoke with Andrade’s coach Gilliard Parana, Andrade has car insurance, and she and Gomes are both physically fine despite the scare.
