The rematch between Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva ended early in the second round when the Brazilian suffered a serious injury to his left shin.
Silva attempted a low kick and Weidman checked it with his left knee, what caused Anderson’s leg to break at the shin.
Before the accident, Weidman had dominated the first round with good punches that took Silva to the ground and a powerful ground-and-pound game.
With the result, Weidman is still the UFC middleweight champion.
In the co-main event of the evening, Ronda Rousey needed three rounds to catch Miesha Tate in her trademark armbar and also retain her belt.
