UFC 147 is already history.
The event that filled the Mineirinho Arena, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in the evening of Saturday, awarded the crowd and TV viewers around the world with exciting battles.
In the main event, Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin had a new clash of titans, fighting openly for five rounds.
Franklin, who endured almost a TKO at the end of the second round, was superior throughout the fight and won by unanimous decision.
In the end, he said, to applause and boos: “I do not remember anything that happened between the end of the second and the beginning of the fifth, but that’s the kind of fight I like.”
Wanderlei, under a standing ovation by the crowd, thanked: “Sorry not to have finished Rich! I got tired there! I love you all.”
In both TUF Brazil finals, more emotions.
At middleweight, Cezar Mutante refused to play on the ground with Sergio Moraes and was superior in striking, in another fight that left the arena in a state of euphoria.
At featherweight, better for Rony Jason over Godofredo Pepey, in a fight without much thrills.
Also on the main card, Fabricio Werdum did not need much time to knock out Mike Russow in the first round.
The Brazilian also took the opportunity to ask for a chance to challenge the champion Junior dos Santos, also present in the Arena.
Closing the main card, Hacran Days debuted in the UFC with a win over Yuri Alcantara.
