UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley scored the newest belt in his growing collection tonight, submitting opponent Darren Till in what became his final performance as a brown belt. While still celebrating the D’arce choke which scored “The Chosen One” his 19th MMA win, Woodley’s corner rushed the ring and threw a fresh black belt in his face in front of the entire UFC 228 audience.

Not bad for a promotion ceremony.
The promotion came at the close of another smart fight by the favored Woodley. After dropping Till early with a right hand and establishing dominance with steady elbows and punches, Woodley capitalized on Till’s exhaustion in half guard with the match-ending D’arce in the second round.
Woodley trains primarily under the mentorship of Din Thomas and fight camp American Top Team. Now age 36, his current record stands at 19-3-1.
