Teen phenom Tye Ruotolo will take on Craig Jones in the next Who’s Number One event.
The big matchup was announced by the promotion just before the main event at WNO: Gordon Ryan vs. Vagner Rocha.
Jones, a 2019 ADCC silver medalist, will be hoping to continue his undefeated record for the promotion. A leg lock expert, he heel hooked his way to victory against Roberto Jimenez and then Ronaldo Junior at previous WNO installments. Given the significant size difference between him and Ruotolo (Jones competed in the 88kg category at ADCC, while Ruotolo battled it out in the 66kg division), this is an interesting matchup, but it’s one that they’re both looking forward to.
Ruotolo made waves when he made it to the semifinals at ADCC as a 16-year-old, and since then, he’s been on a roll. He’s picked up big wins against names like Vagner Rocha, Bruno Frazatto, and Renato Canuto and is undefeated at WNO himself. In fact, his most recent match was for the promotion, where he defeated Kody Steele with a heel hook. Prior to that, he picked up a referee decision against Nicky Ryan.
Who’s Number One: Jones vs. Ruotolo will take place on Friday, April 30.
