Travis Stevens, One of fastest man to earn a black belt in BJJ has utilized his newaza (ground work) to earn a silver medal in the Olympics.
Travis Stevens utilized two pins (side control) and a bow and arrow choke in order to move to the finals of the 81kg Olympics in judo.
Travis defeated Robin Pacek, Shakhzodbek Sabirov, and Ivanov Ivaylo. From there, he went to the finals of the 81kg division. In the finals, Travis lost to Khasan Khalmurzaev, the current European Champion from Russia.
Travis earned the first medal for an American male since 2004.
