Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares failed to make his division’s 88kg weight ceiling at weigh-ins this afternoon in Nottingham.
Bráulio Estima broke the news over Twitter, announcing that the Brazilian would have to sit out ADCC 2011.
Poland’s Norbert Nowak was already set to take the Brazilian’s place.
However, Bráulio soon came back with another tweet, annoucing that the organization had decided to give Palhares another chance.
Toquinho needs to make weight today and then again tomorrow before his first match.
Also via Twitter, Fábio Gurgel announced that Bruno Malfacine had received a last-minute invitation to take part in the under-66kg division.
In another twist, Gurgel was back on Twitter informing his followers that the invitation had been rescinded.
