Jiu-jitsu competitor and Hollywood star Tom Hardy has continued his dominance across masters’ blue belt divisions with another gold medal finish, this time at “All Stars” BJJ Europeans 2023 over the weekend.
Hardy’s performance earned praise from luminaries of the combat sports community such as Tom DeBlass, who took to Instagram, writing, “I’m proud of this guy. [Tom Hardy] doesn’t need to prove a damn thing, yet not only is he training in his mid forties, but the man is out there competing! He doesn’t ask for special treatment, and I’ve personally witnessed him say yes to every person that asks him to roll.”
According to DeBlass, Hardy hit a clean double leg in the waning seconds of the finals, which DeBlass is reportedly “trying to get [Hardy to] let me post, he’s such a humble dude.”
DeBlass did post a few highlights from Hardy’s latest competition, adding in the caption, “I think the purple belt is knocking at the door sooner than later.”
Hardy commented on DeBlass’ post to praise his opponent, writing, “That man Mihail Secara is very strong with a huge and kind heart much respect to him I got humbled a lot today. Won and lost. I also had an amazing time too with my team [REORG].”
