Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw made a visit to Irvine, California, so he could train under one of Gracie Barra headquarters’ chief instructors, Philipe “Furao” Della Monica.
Dillashaw was grateful for the opportunity to train under the third-degree black belt, writing:
Soaking as much knowledge as I can from this Master in Jiu Jitsu. Thank you @philipefurao for being so awesome!
TJ Dillashaw shocked the world of mixed martial arts two years ago when he ended the 31-fight no loss streak of former Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao. Dillashaw would unfortunately go on to lose the belt two fights later when he took on Dominick Cruz.
TJ was originally given a second chance at the bantamweight strap at UFC 213 against the division’s reigning champion, Cody Garbrandt. Cody, however, suffered a back injury and the match was scraped.
