The Jiu-Jitsu Times Is Collecting Data About Sexual Harassment In BJJ And Needs Your Help

The topic of sexual harassment in jiu-jitsu is a heated one, and it’s been made abundantly clear from comments we’ve seen on previous Jiu-Jitsu Times articles that touched on the issue that lots of people have experienced it for themselves in their own gym. Still, plenty of other readers insisted that they’d never witnessed or experienced it, which begs the question of how rampant the problem really is in the jiu-jitsu community.

To settle the issue once and for all, I’m once again asking for your help. You guys have been awesome in your responses to our surveys about jiu-jitsu and depression and female jiu-jitsu apparel, so I have high hopes that we’ll once again be able to collect some hard data on a very important issue. Whether you’re male or female, a new white belt or a seasoned black belt, and have or have not experienced sexual harassment in jiu-jitsu, please take a few minutes out of your day to complete this survey. It’s completely anonymous and doesn’t require you to give away any details about where you’re from or where you train.

The survey will be open until Friday, August 18, at which point results will be collected and shared in a separate article, so keep an eye out!
