It’s been over six months since the last Subversiv event, but this weekend, we’re at last going to see the return of the team-based BJJ event as Subversiv 5 comes to Miami, Florida.
The promotion has stacked the card with some of the best that each team has to offer, with eight teams of three facing off to see if Atos will retain the no-gi title they earned at Subversiv 4 or if a new team will be crowned.
Among the highlights of the event include Kaynan Duarte and Rafaela Guedes on Team Atos, Kendall Reusing on Team Gracie Barra, Oliver Taza on Team Danaher Death Squad, and Gabriel Almeida from Team Checkmat. There will also be a number of superfights throughout the night, with a match between Elisabeth Clay and Andressa Cintra taking place just before the tournament finals.
This time around, we’ll see some returning teams and athletes along with plenty of newcomers.

The four quarterfinal matches kicking off the tournament will be:
- Atos vs. ATT
- Gracie Barra vs. Fight Sports
- Checkmat vs. DDS
- Studio 84 vs. 10th Planet
While there will, of course, be a finals round to determine who wins it all and who’s the runner-up, there will also be a third-place match between the two teams who lose their respective semifinals matches.
Subversiv 5 will take place Saturday, May 1 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
