Strongman & “GoT” Actor Hafþór Björnsson To Compete In Exhibition Boxing Match Next Month

Hafþór Björnsson (known best for his role as “The Mountain” in Game of Thrones) will be competing in his first official boxing match next month.

The bout will be an exhibition fight against Northern Ireland boxer Steve Ward, who has a 13-1 professional boxing record. The match, promoted by MTK Global, will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland on January 16.

Björnsson has made a name for himself not only as an actor, but as a competitive strongman, establishing himself as one of the strongest men in the world over the course of his career. Recently, he’s expanded his skillset into martial arts, and earlier this month, he was filmed rolling with BJJ black belt Josh Palmer.
