Following a string of uncertainties and postponements, the second phase of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP now has a date and location. The next installment will take place June 18, according to a release from the promotion today.

On the card for the event in Dallas, Texas, are two major matchups. Two-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion Fabricio Werdum faces the current champion of the promotion, Alistair Overeem, while Josh Barnett gets the hard-hitting Brett Rogers.

Now the April 9 Strikeforce show, which was originally meant to be the continuation of the GP, is set to feature other interesting title fights for fans in San Diego, California. In the first big fight, Nick Diez defends his welterweight crown against Paul Daley. Now lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez will have an enticing showdown with Japan’s Tatsuya Kawajiri, a fighter well known for his performances at the now extinct Pride FC promotion and Dream.

Another bout announced for April 9 has Dream under-84 kg champion Gegard Mousasi facing Mike Kyle – two potential opponents for Roger Gracie down the line. For further information, visit www.strikeforce.com.
