Spyder gains more traction as a BJJ promotion in Korea with an exciting event this past weekend. Their investment in this sport is clear, with quality production and commentating courtesy of John Evans of BJJ Breakdown and even better matches.
Marcelo Garcia brown belt Matheus Lutes was a standout prospect, defeating both Osvaldo ‘Queixinho’ Moizinho and Augusto ‘Tanquinho’ Mendes. Lutes proves that the gap between brown belt and black belt in competition can be razor thin. Perhaps we will see him wearing a black belt soon.
Meanwhile, Tim Spriggs took the -100kg victory through systematic pressure passing and solid takedowns.
