The Irish Open is Ireland’s longest running Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament and attracts competitors from all over Ireland and Europe to Dublin each year and has grown every year to become a mainstay in the Irish Brazilian Jiu Jitsu calendar.
The tournaments prizes draw in many top competitors. Each year, the absolute winners from colour and black belt divisions in both Adult and Masters win a trip to the IBJJF European Open in Lisbon.
Jiu Jitsu in Ireland is growing rapidly, and it’s now normal to see Irish athletes on the podium at major tournaments.
In 2019, the event will be over 2 days for the first time, with the Irish Kids Open, Ireland’s largest children’s tournament, a part of the event for the first time.
