BJJ and MMA legend Shinya Aoki added another submission win to his lengthy record last night at ONE Championship‘s “ONE on TNT IV” event when he went up against Eduard Folayang.
Folayang came out swinging, and Aoki countered with a body kick and then a head kick. Aoki began controlling the center of the cage and soon shot in for a takedown, driving his opponent against the fence. Folayang reversed the position, but Aoki managed to bring the fight to the ground and trap Folayang’s legs between his own. With about two minutes left in the round, Aoki slipped upward into mount and began raining down strikes from the top. Slowly but securely, Aoki latched onto one of Folayang’s arms and leaned back toward the cage, getting the tap at 4:20 into the first round.
