Due to popular demand, the Samurai Pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament is back. After its successful debut last Spring 2011, Samurai Pro Sports is now holding its second Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at CSU Dominguez Hills in the Torodome, located at 1000 East Victoria St., Carson, CA.
The ever-popular two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, two-time ADCC world heavyweight champion, European Jiu-Jitsu champion, and current UFC fighter Fabricio Werdum sent shock waves through the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community at the last Samurai Pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament when he called his friends from around the world and invited them to the tournament. What resulted was, in addition to the over 500 athletes who came to this prestigious event, over 35 world-class black belts also competed in it.
The Samurai Pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 2 Tournament is expected to bring in an even bigger crowd this year. “I am very happy and excited to host the Samurai Pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 2 Tournament,” Fabricio says, “It’s an extremely competitive, yet fun tournament, and with all the cash prizes being given away, I’m sure it will once again be very successful and memorable for everyone.”
Total cash prizes in the amount of $6,000 will be awarded to the following open class winners: Men’s division: $2,000 black belt, $750 brown belt, $500 blue belt, and $250 white belt. In the women’s division, $1,000 will be awarded to the absolute winner in the purple/brown/black division.
