Ryan Hall has had a hard time finding someone who wanted to fight him, but now, Ricardo Lamas has stepped up to finally give him an opponent, according to an announcement by the UFC.
The two will battle it out at UFC Oklahoma City, which will be headlined by Chris Weidman vs. Jack Hermansson. The fight will be Hall’s first since last July, where he defeated Darren Elkins by decision. Prior to that, he submitted BJ Penn with a heel hook at the end of 2018. Lamas, who also got a win against Elkins in 2018, last fought to a TKO loss against Calvin Kattar back in June.
The match comes days after Hall revealed on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show that he’d been turned down by seven potential opponents despite his best efforts to find someone who would be willing to fight him.
UFC Oklahoma City will take place on May 2 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
