With nearly five thousand votes counted on the event’s official website over just three days, First Class fight brought the “You are the FCF Champion” promotion to a close, having defined who will fight for the five-thousand Real prize. The fan favorites for the decisive fights were Rodrigo Ruiz and Vitor Toffanelli, in the under-70 kg (lightweight) division.
The two will face off in the opening fight of the fifth installment of FCF, to take place Saturday, October 23 at the Mauro Pinheiro gymnasium. Besides the prize money, the winner of the bout is guaranteed a spot on the card for the sixth FCF show.
From a karate background, Vitor Toffanelli already has fourteen professional MMA fights on his record, counting ten wins and four losses. “I want to fight for my place in the domestic scene. A lot of fighters don’t get a chance to be in big events. And I’m positive I’ll put on a great show for the public,” he declared.
Now Rodrigo Ruiz is a well-known entity at FCF, having fought in the third installment of the event, but ended up losing to Edson PC. “Fighting is my life and being in a big event like this one has always been part of my plans. All I want is to win,” said the CheckMat team fighter currently with a record of thirteen wins, thirteen losses and one draw on his record.
FCF’s promoters are excited about the success of the promotion and expect a great fight. “There were a lot of good guys signed up, it was tough to pick the finalists. But the public did a great job in picking the two for the final. They’re really tough guys and I’m certain they’ll put on a great fight in the cage,” said Roberto Godoi, First Class Fight promoter.
