Former UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is apparently out to get the best jiu-jitsu training she can find as she prepares for her next fight.
Namajunas, who’s currently a BJJ brown belt, has recently shared on social media that she’s been training with some of jiu-jitsu’s best coaches and athletes. First, she stopped in for a visit at Renzo Gracie Academy HQ, where she got to train with John Danaher, Nathalia Santoro, Garry Tonon, Nicky Ryan, Nick Rodriguez, and Gordon Ryan.
Namajunas then went on to train with BJJ black belt and UFC featherweight Ryan Hall at his academy, 50/50 Martial Arts.
In a separate Instagram post, Namajunas explained that all these gym visits are the result of a road trip that she originally took for the sake of a photoshoot. But of course, she couldn’t pass up the chance to get some high-level training in along her journey.
Namajunas is coming off a rematch win against Jessica Andrade back in July following a brutal slam-based KO loss to Andrade in May of last year. With all the top-quality BJJ training she’s getting recently, we’ll be sure to look out for some new and improved jiu-jitsu skills in her next fight.
