Yesterday, the former and original UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey talked about her last two losses in the UFC.
“I did a whole lot of crying, isolating myself, (husband Travis Browne) held me and let me cry and it lasted two years,” Rousey said in an interview quoted in MMA Junkie. “I couldn’t have done it alone. There’s a lot of things you have to remember. Every missed opportunity is a blessing in disguise.”
Rousey was originally thought to be unstoppable in her division. She won the first 12 fights of her career, defeating most of her opponents with ease.
Then at UFC 193, her streak came to a grinding halt when she was defeated by Holly Holm in a one-sided victory. Rowdy tried to make a comeback against reigning Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes, but was put down with ease in the first round.
Rousey has since given up her MMA career and found her passion in pro-wrestling. She is now part of the WWE roster and recently teamed up with Kurt Angle in her debut match to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at Wrestlemania 34.
You will be able to catch Rousey on the silverscrean this year in the movie “Mile 22.” She will also appear in the remake of “Road House” which will be out on a yet-to-be released date.
