Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has once again made a powerful argument that he should be next in line for the middleweight strap.
The 37-year-old Brazilian and BJJ black belt took on “The Barbarian” Tim Boetsch, who was riding a two-fight knockout streak.
But if Boetsch was entertaining any ideas of being the first man in almost a decade to finish Souza, Jacare shut them down before the first round.

Ronaldo took the center of the cage early. Though he failed in his first takedown attempt, he nailed the second when he caught Boetsch’s leg. From there, Jacare passed to side control, then took the mount. Boetsch left his arm out too far from his body, and Jacare clamped down on it, twisting until The Barbarian’s arm almost touched the back of his neck.
Boetsch had no choice but to tap. He also needed an ice pack on his shoulder.
