Rodolfo Vieira hits weight and is ready for MMA debut

Rodolfo Vieira and Zarylbek Daniyar.

Four-time BJJ world champion Rodolfo Vieira will debut in MMA tomorrow, Feb. 11, at the Arzalet Fighting Globe Championship at the Ibiraquera Gymnasyum in Sao Paulo. Today the first official weigh-ins took place, and Vieira faced his opponent, Zarylbek Daniyar, for the first time.

“The weigh-in was cool,” Vieira said. “I had never felt this type of adrenaline. It made me very motivated. The first step has been taken; now I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I’m very confident; the work was done in the best possible way, and I hope to come out with a submission tomorrow, preferably in the first round.”

Two other BJJ black-belts will be in action. Ary Farias will seek his sixth MMA win vs. Barca Ernie. And Marcos Souza, a Brazilian Nationals champion undefeated in MMA, will try for his sixth win over Fabiano Araújo. Full line-up below.
