Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu Dominates Dj Jackson At Open Class Miami Spring Final 27-0

Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu tore into Jackson at their Open Class match against one another during the Finals of the recent IBJJF tournament in Miami Springs, Florida. Jackson wasn’t able to put together any defense as he lost the match 27-0, but this wasn’t the first time Abreu did something that shocked the world.

Cyborg earned his black belt in his native Brazil. He received his nickname after suffering major injuries in a car accident in 2000. Abreu was still a Blue Belt at the time, and doctors told him that he probably wouldn’t move his arm again, but in spite of their warnings, he earned Second Place in the Brazilian Nationals only four months later with shards of glass still stuck in his limbs. He later recovered a full range of motion in his left arm in spite of the previous prognosis.

While he might have suffered a major setback at Miami Gardens, Jackson is not one to get scoffed at. The BJJ middleweight division star started studying with Lloyd Irvin when he was still a wrestler, and it looks like he’ll be doubling up on his practices with Irvin to avoid the risk of another big defeat.
