Robert Drysdale has withdrawn from his UFC 163 fight against Ednaldo Oliveira, GRACIEMAG.com confirmed on Wednesday morning.
The Jiu-Jitsu expert, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, received a staph infection and cannot compete on the Aug. 3 UFC Pay-Per-View.
UFC 163 was scheduled to be Drysdale’s debut with the organization, after building a 6-0 professional record in regional MMA promotions.
UFC officials are yet to confirm Drysdale’s injury. At this time, it is unknown if Oliveira will remain on the card.
