With Bellator 242 still scheduled for May 9, the promotion has started to book fights for their prelims. Now, Rhalan Gracie (son of Relson Gracie) has a spot on the card for himself, providing the event does end up happening.
Gracie has had two fights in his professional career, but hasn’t stepped into the cage since 2007. He’ll be hoping for his first win against opponent Dominic Sumner, who is currently 1-3.
The event plans to have two main fights, one of which will see Ryan Bader defending his light heavyweight title against Vadim Nemkov, and one that will feature a fight between Gegard Mousasi and Douglas Lima for the currently vacant middleweight belt. The promotion has also released the other preliminary matches scheduled for the card:
Alan Benson vs. Evan Gubera
Ivan Batinich vs. Joe Kropschot
Hyder Amil vs. Brandon Laroco
Gabriel Pacheco vs. Abraham Vesau
Rhalan Gracie vs. Dominic Sumner
Ryan Attebery vs. Mike Howard
Daniel Oseguera vs. Sorcrates Hernandez
While every sporting event is currently up in the air given the coronavirus pandemic, Bellator 242 is currently scheduled to go down May 9 at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.
