Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao is back in the win column, snapping a two-fight losing streak.
Renan took on “The Filipino Assassin” Phillipe Nover. The two began the fight dancing around the cage and feeling each other out. Renan soon got his range and began landing some well-timed shots on his opponent. Though he was never able to cause any significant damage, he did enough to impress the judges, scoring a unanimous decision victory in his homeland.
Renan is well-known for holding one of the longest no-loss streaks in MMA history (30 wins and one no-contest). His fight against Nover marks his second fight in the featherweight division.
