Coming up, Rashad Evans will have about as tough a task as they come when he steps into the octagon at UFC 145 in Atlanta. He’ll have to beat Jon Jones, a man who lost just one of his 16 career fights, and even so it was by disqualification. That is, a fighter hasn’t surfaced yet who can overcome the current UFC light heavyweight champion.
To beat his former training partner and recover his belt, Jiu-Jitsu may prove fundamental for Rashad, who has been working on his ground skills with Zé Mario Sperry. In the video below, the fighter demonstrates some basic positions that may prove useful in today’s fight: the armbar from guard, triangle and rear-naked choke:
