The maiden San Francisco Open was held this past Sunday in California, and the home team took the cake: Ralph Gracie had a romp and came up in first, with Peninsula BJJ and Gracie Humaitá rounding out the podium.
The big winner of the absolute was GFTeam’s Vitor Henrique, with Samir Chantre in second. Vitor also won the middleweight division, having overcome Marcos Torregrossa in the final.
MÃOZINHA HELPS RALPH GRACIE WIN
The standout at superheavyweight was Marcel “Mãozinha” Fortuna, an athlete on the winning team who took gold after beating James Puopolo (Lovato). Besides the silver, Puopolo also took bronze in the absolute.
