A standout in competition Jiu-Jitsu and in MMA, where she is undefeated in six fights, Claudia Gadelha returned home to Brazil only to suffer the misfortune of getting sidelined for seven months due to injury.
A blow to her leg while training for the ADCC tryouts caused her vascular trauma that progressively worsened until Claudia had no recourse but to undergo surgery this week. Now, the black belt is aching to take up her training where she left off:
“I went through a rough patch that taught me a lot. Spending seven months without being able to do what I love most in life was upsetting, but I also learned a lot of things. I had a lot of opportunities lined up when I got hurt and now I can see just how much I love martial arts,” she remarked.
“I suffered venous insufficiency from trauma to my leg and had to undergo a surgical procedure to get back to 100% again. Now I’m going to give my blood to conquer the biggest titles, and I’m anxious to make my return,” said the Nova União black belt.
Claudia promises some big news to mark her return, with a possible MMA fight abroad that is being studied by her coach and team leader André Pederneiras.
