The middleweight champion with a pristine record in the UFC, Anderson Silva has embraced his new role as a worldwide superstar. This month “The Spider” took on an extra-octagon commitment, hitting the track at Nascar, the popular US stock car racing circuit.
An automobile aficionado, Anderson will be driving the pace car at the upcoming race in Arizona, leading the line of racers to the starting line. “I’m a Nascar fan from way back, and it’s an honor to take part in the next event, in Phoenix. I have loads of respect for these guys. They are, without a doubt, some of the toughest athletes in the world. I can’t wait to go in there with the pace car,” he told the R7 website. The event will take place November 13 in Phoenix.
